Google launches satellite carrying AI chip for testing
A prototype satellite from Google carrying a Google Tensor Processing Unit chip was recently launched into space to test the chip's performance in the space environment and to study whether artificial intelligence infrastructure could be deployed in space in the future. Google said its team has established communication with the satellite, which is currently operating normally. Google said the launch is part of a long-term study aimed at exploring whether scalable machine learning infrastructure could be deployed in space in the future.
