European semiconductor companies' share prices rose broadly due to growing market demand for AI-related stocks. Earlier this week, memory chip manufacturer Micron Technology reported strong quarterly results and said demand would remain strong for years to come. In Europe, Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer ASML and its smaller rival ASM International saw their share prices rise 2.3% and 4.1%, respectively. Dutch semiconductor packaging equipment supplier BE Semiconductor Industries rose 2.6%. German chipmaker Infineon Technologies rose 4.6%. STMicroelectronics rose 2.7%.
