Ireland says the EU is ready to support the EU agricultural sector.

Irish Agriculture Minister Martin Heydon said whether the EU introduces further emergency support measures for the agricultural sector will depend on changes in market conditions. The EU has already introduced a number of measures, including relaxing state aid rules and providing emergency assistance to address the problem of high fertilizer prices, while member states have also rolled out their own supporting policies. European agriculture has been hit by drought and heatwaves, and agricultural production is under pressure amid rising input costs and the Russia-Ukraine Black Sea conflict driving up global grain prices.
