Delta Air Lines said one of its passenger planes made an emergency landing in Portugal on the afternoon of the 27th after smoke appeared in the cabin during flight. According to Reuters, the flight, numbered DL251, was originally scheduled to fly from Barcelona, Spain, to Boston, United States, and was operated by an Airbus A330, with a total of 296 passengers on board. Flightradar24 showed that the flight took off from Barcelona at 15:15 local time on the 27th and landed at Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport in Porto, Portugal, at 17:45 local time. A spokesperson for Portugal's emergency relief and civil protection authorities told Reuters that 8 passengers received treatment at the airport, and several others were taken to hospital. The spokesperson said the reason for the emergency landing was smoke in the cabin. It is currently unclear what caused the smoke.
