$100 Oil Meets the AI Computing Hardware Export Boom! Malaysian Ringgit Poised to Stage a Comeback in the FX Market on "Dual Catalysts"
Some veteran foreign exchange strategists say that rising oil prices and the AI boom are providing positive factors for the Malaysian ringgit, and the sovereign currency may be poised for gains. Although the ringgit has fallen 1.2% since September, underperforming all other Asian currencies, the latest forecast from MUFG shows that the ringgit will appreciate to 4.03 ringgit per U.S. dollar by the end of the year. Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation expects it to reach 4.0 ringgit per U.S. dollar by then. As of last Friday's foreign exchange market close, the ringgit had risen 0.3% to 4.0738 ringgit per U.S. dollar.
