Huang Guo, Commissioner of the National Medical Products Administration, led a delegation to visit the United Kingdom and signed a letter of intent for cooperation with the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

From September 21 to 24, in order to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of China and the UK and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in drug regulation between the two countries, Huang Guo, Commissioner of the National Medical Products Administration, led a delegation to the UK for a working visit upon invitation. During the visit, Huang Guo held talks with Anthony Harnden, Chair of the Board of the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, and Lawrence Tallon, Chief Executive of the MHRA, exchanging views on topics such as drug clinical trials, drug inspections, pharmacovigilance, and AI medical device regulation, and reaching consensus on further deepening future cooperation. Both sides agreed that the drug regulatory agencies of the two countries should work together to promote the development of the pharmaceutical industry and jointly address disease challenges. After the meeting, the National Medical Products Administration and the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency signed a letter of intent for cooperation, agreeing to gradually enhance mutual trust through continuously improving mutual understanding.
