Due to snowy weather, Mount Everest scenic area suspends ticket sales.

On September 25, the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Tingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region, and Shigatse Mount Everest Cultural Tourism Investment Development Co., Ltd. issued an announcement stating that due to snowfall, roads within the Mount Everest Scenic Area have experienced snow accumulation and icing, among other conditions, and no longer meet the conditions for vehicle passage. The Mount Everest Scenic Area stopped selling tickets as of 9:00 on September 25, 2026, and the roads are currently being cleared. Tourists are kindly requested to adjust their travel plans in advance. The time when ticket sales will resume will be announced separately through official channels.
