Zhoushan, Zhejiang: "Self-healing" smart microgrid ensures stable power supply to islands

On the 25th, the 110 kV Zhongzhu Substation in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, completed a nine-day comprehensive maintenance. During the comprehensive maintenance period, State Grid Zhoushan Power Supply Company relied on a "self-healing" island smart microgrid to ensure continuous and stable power supply. It is understood that in order to strengthen the weak links in power supply to remote islands, State Grid Zhoushan Power Supply Company took the lead in putting an island smart microgrid into operation on Miaozihu Island in 2024, and built a supporting diversified power source system including diesel power generation, energy storage, and photovoltaics, achieving integrated intelligent dispatch of source, grid, load, and storage, and possessing the capability to operate independently off-grid after the main grid is shut down.
