Amazon (AMZN.O) founder Jeff Bezos has invested about $30 billion in Blue Origin since founding the company in 2000 to develop rockets, satellite communications, and space businesses. According to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, Blue Origin is currently conducting its first funding round involving outside investors, having raised about $10 billion at a valuation of $140 billion. Blue Origin currently has about 15,000 employees and plans to significantly increase commercial revenue. Company documents show revenue of about $800 million in 2025, with projections of $1.4 billion in 2026, and revenue potentially exceeding $30 billion by 2030. The company's future growth mainly depends on rocket launches, satellite communications, and AI satellite businesses. Among these, the New Glenn heavy-lift reusable rocket is seen as a key project for catching up with SpaceX. Blue Origin said it hopes to narrow the gap with SpaceX in the commercial space sector with the New Glenn rocket.
