On the afternoon of September 21, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao held a video call with Ola Kllenius, Chairman of the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) and Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, to exchange views on China-EU economic and trade relations and cooperation in the automotive industry. Wang Wentao stated that China is willing to work with the European side within the framework of the trade and investment consultation mechanism to properly resolve differences through dialogue, ensure the stability of China-EU economic and trade relations, and inject certainty into world economic development. He expressed hope that the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association would play a positive role in promoting the European side to meet China halfway and reach a solution at an early date that complies with WTO rules and respective domestic laws and accommodates the interests of both industries.
