Coherent recently announced the launch of PhotonLink, an integrated optical platform that brings together the company's key photonics technology portfolio, precision assembly, and testing capabilities to provide optical solutions for next-generation AI data centers, supporting co-packaged optics (CPO), near-packaged optics (NPO), and emerging chip-to-chip optical interconnects, with revenue expected to begin contributing from the fourth quarter of 2026. According to the company, its data center manufacturing base has cumulatively shipped more than 300 million indium phosphide lasers and more than 1 billion indium phosphide and gallium arsenide photodetectors, and is expanding its 6-inch indium phosphide and specialty optical fiber capacity to support the PhotonLink capacity ramp-up.
