According to AstraZeneca China, AstraZeneca announced today an investment of nearly RMB 200 million to comprehensively upgrade the new drug development and supply building at its Wuxi manufacturing and supply base. The facility will be used for process development and production of AstraZeneca's investigational innovative cardiovascular drug, and will support global supply of the drug after commercialization. The project has a floor area of approximately 5,800 square meters, is scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2029, and is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 400 million tablets. Once completed, the Wuxi base will participate in commercial manufacturing process development starting from the drug R&D stage, and is expected to become AstraZeneca's first base in Asia-Pacific capable of supporting global launch and supply of new drugs.
