Wang Yi Meets with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn

Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn in Beijing on the 15th. Wang Yi said that China highly values ASEAN and regards it as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy. China will continue to support ASEAN's unity and community building, support ASEAN's central role in the regional architecture, and is willing to work with ASEAN to promote the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future. China is willing to work with ASEAN countries to implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea and advance the consultation process on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea. Kao Kim Hourn said that China is a trustworthy and reliable partner for ASEAN. ASEAN is willing to continue to deepen and expand practical cooperation with China and jointly maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea.
