September 15 afternoon news, after the Tesla Model YL became embroiled in a rear wheel sagging controversy, Sina Tech has learned that Tesla has modified parameters such as the vehicle's overall height and ground clearance in the Model YL owner's manual, reducing them by 3-4 mm overall. Recently, multiple Tesla owners have reported that their Tesla Model YL, less than a year after delivery, developed rear wheel sagging during long-distance driving and other scenarios, with the gap between the rear wheel arch and the tire noticeably shrinking, affecting driving stability and safety. Some owners also experienced sagging again not long after having the springs replaced at after-sales service, and questioned whether it is a common defect in the vehicle. Regarding the rear wheel sagging issue, Tesla has not yet made a formal public response. A person familiar with the matter told Sina Tech that Tesla officially modified some vehicle parameters in the owner's manual recently. A comparison of the before and after versions of the Tesla Model YL owner's manual found that in the April version this year, the vehicle's overall height was 1668 mm, the laden ground clearance was 122 mm, and the unladen ground clearance was 169 mm; in the latest version, the vehicle's overall height has been reduced to 1664 mm, the laden ground clearance has been reduced to 118 mm, and the unladen ground clearance has been reduced to 166 mm. Some owners are concerned that this modification of vehicle parameters may have a certain impact on the after-sales criteria for determining rear wheel sagging and on repairs. Regarding the modification of vehicle parameters, as of press time, Tesla officially has no response. Tesla customer service stated that it has not received any related notice and has no relevant information to share.
