Uniper plans to sell its stake in the OPAL gas pipeline to meet the additional requirements attached to the EU bailout.
Uniper SE has agreed to sell its stake in Germany's Opal gas pipeline to Hy24, an investment vehicle backed by private equity firm Ardian SAS, fulfilling another condition set by the European Union for its government bailout package. The utility company announced on Monday that Uniper will divest its entire stake in the holding company Lubmin-Brandov Assets GmbH & Co., which holds a 20% stake in the Opal pipeline, with the remaining 80% held by state-owned enterprise Gascade Gastransport GmbH.
