Weilong's 162 tons of imported konjac flour flagged for excessive sulfur dioxide; customer service says it was not used in any products

Recently, information on food and cosmetics denied entry in July 2026 disclosed by the Import and Export Food Safety Bureau of the General Administration of Customs shows that konjac powder imported by Henan Weilong Food Enterprise E-commerce Development Co., Ltd. exceeded the sulfur dioxide limit under GB2760-2024 and did not comply with the provisions of the national food safety standards. The product involved weighed 162 tons, originated in Indonesia, entered through the port of Qingdao, and was produced by "PT. BANSHANG TECHNOLOGY JAWA TIMUR." In response, Weilong customer service told reporters, "What you mentioned is a batch of imported konjac raw materials that was sampled at the customs port stage and found not to comply with our country's relevant food safety import standards. That batch of raw materials has been returned in accordance with regulations and was not used in any Weilong products. It has nothing to do with Weilong products currently on sale."
