National Bureau of Statistics: Market prices rose moderately, with a slight decrease in the growth rate in July.
From January to July, the national consumer price index (CPI) for residents increased by 0.9% year-on-year. By category, prices for food, tobacco, alcohol, and dining out decreased by 0.2%, clothing prices increased by 1.6%, housing prices decreased by 0.2%, prices for daily necessities and services increased by 1.7%, transportation and communication prices increased by 1.6%, education, culture, and entertainment prices increased by 1.2%, healthcare prices increased by 2.1%, and prices for other goods and services increased by 10.8%. Within the category of food, tobacco, alcohol, and dining out, the price of pork decreased by 13.4%, grain prices decreased by 0.3%, fresh fruit prices increased by 1.1%, and fresh vegetable prices increased by 3.5%. In July, the national consumer price index increased by 0.5% year-on-year and decreased by 0.1% month-on-month. From January to July, the core CPI, excluding food and energy prices, rose by 1.1% year-on-year, with the core CPI in July increasing by 0.9% year-on-year. From January to July, the national industrial producer price index increased by 1.8% year-on-year, with an increase of 3.5% in July year-on-year and a decrease of 0.7% month-on-month. From January to July, the national industrial producer purchase price index increased by 2.8% year-on-year, with a year-on-year increase of 5.5% in July and a month-on-month decrease of 1.0%.
