Multi-faceted Optimization and Upgrade: New National Standards for Tent Fabrics to be Implemented Next Year
Today, reporters learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that the national standard for "Fabrics for Camping Tents and Sun Shelters" will be implemented starting August 1, 2027. This standard specifies the quality and technical requirements for various types of fabrics used in camping tents and sun shelters, aiming to guide enterprises in enhancing the functional indicators of outdoor textiles and improving consumers' outdoor camping experience. With the rapid development of the camping economy, the variety of camping tents and sun shelter products has expanded, and the diverse scenarios of mountaineering, exploration, and long-term travel have raised higher expectations for the fabric performance. This standard revision optimizes and upgrades aspects such as product classification, quality indicators, and testing methods.
First, the product classification is refined. Based on applicable scenarios, the standard categorizes products into three types: short-term use in sunny weather, use in rainy weather, and all-weather use, better matching the actual outdoor usage needs. Second, the quality requirements are upgraded. The standard enhances key indicators such as breaking strength, tearing strength, and waterproof performance, and differentiates the requirements for waterproof performance, cold resistance, and weather resistance according to product categories, continually improving product performance and quality. Third, testing specifications are unified. The standard not only updates and upgrades existing testing methods but also adds new special testing methods for wet abrasion color fastness and width deviation, enriching testing techniques and improving technical capabilities.
