Multiple brokerages have lowered their target prices for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, yet some institutions maintain an optimistic outlook.

Recently, brokerages have generally lowered their target prices for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Future Securities believes that the peak of the memory chip cycle may arrive sooner than expected, and thus has reduced Samsung Electronics' target price from 390,000 KRW to 350,000 KRW. Future Asset Securities has lowered its target price from 550,000 KRW to 370,000 KRW, while Shinhan Investment Corp moved its target from 590,000 KRW to 450,000 KRW. Samsung Securities has adjusted its price target down from 500,000 KRW to 400,000 KRW. On the other hand, KB Securities believes that the supply shortage will last at least another three years and has maintained its target price at 600,000 KRW. Market opinions on SK Hynix are similarly divided. Future Asset Securities lowered its target price from 4,200,000 KRW to 2,800,000 KRW on the 29th of last month; Shinhan Investment Corp also reduced its target from 4,200,000 KRW to 2,700,000 KRW; NH Investment & Securities lowered it from 4,100,000 KRW to 3,400,000 KRW; Daishin Securities reduced its target from 3,900,000 KRW to 3,200,000 KRW; and Samsung Securities decreased its target from 3,500,000 KRW to 3,000,000 KRW. Conversely, Korea Investment & Securities raised its target price for SK Hynix from 3,800,000 KRW to 4,700,000 KRW. Consequently, the lowest target price set by the brokerages is 2,700,000 KRW, while the highest is 4,700,000 KRW, resulting in a gap of 2,000,000 KRW.
