Ministry of Water Resources: 52 rivers nationwide are still above warning levels.

This morning, the Ministry of Water Resources held a consultation to analyze and assess the national flood prevention situation. As of 9 AM today, 52 rivers in areas such as Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan, Heilongjiang, and Inner Mongolia are still above warning levels, with the maximum exceeding by 4.27 meters; 28 rivers remain above the safety level. According to forecasts, from August 16 to 17, due to rainfall and upstream water flow, the water level of Taihu Lake will continue to rise slowly, and the lower reaches of the Yangtze River tributary Chuhe, the midstream tributary Huaihe, and the downstream section of the main stream of Heilongjiang below Tongjiang will continue to exceed warning levels. The Minjiang River and Qingshui River in Sichuan will experience rising water levels; some small and medium rivers in heavy rain areas may experience flooding above warning levels. From 8 AM on the 16th to 8 AM on the 17th, there is a high possibility of mountain flood disasters occurring in northern and central Sichuan, leading to the issuance of an orange alert for mountain floods. The Ministry of Water Resources has maintained a yellow flood warning and reminds the public in areas affected by heavy rain and flooding to take precautions.
