Nvidia is currently in talks to invest up to $3 billion in SB Energy, which is supported by SoftBank.
According to informed sources, NVIDIA is in talks to invest up to $3 billion in SB Energy. SB Energy is backed by SoftBank Group and is working on a major data center project in Ohio for OpenAI. One insider stated that the investment negotiations are part of a broader discussion between NVIDIA, OpenAI, and SB Energy. NVIDIA plans to provide approximately $100 billion in credit support for this Ohio data center park. Such transactions are becoming more frequent as NVIDIA leverages its substantial financial strength to support AI-related companies and projects, thereby promoting the procurement and use of NVIDIA hardware products. The discussed plan between the parties is that when the Ohio project is officially signed, NVIDIA will initially invest half of the $3 billion; the remaining half will be contributed when SB Energy goes public. With a maximum investment of $1.5 billion, NVIDIA would become one of the main investors in SB Energy's upcoming IPO. One insider reported that SB Energy aims to go public as early as next month, with an IPO fundraising target of at least $5 billion.
