Cases of Mastercard payment refusal have appeared in Australia.

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia stated that due to a global outage by Mastercard, Australian users are experiencing transaction declines with their Mastercard payments. The service outage reporting website Downdetector received over 1,700 reports regarding Mastercard issues by 3 PM on Saturday. The most reported faults on Downdetector were concentrated in fund transfers and mobile banking services. The Commonwealth Bank stated on its official website: If customers encounter transaction declines, please insert your debit card, select the savings account, and complete the payment through the Australian electronic payment system eftpos. All other services of the Commonwealth Bank, including ATMs, are functioning normally.
