Jiangsu: Vigorously develop emerging interdisciplinary fields aimed at urgent needs such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, nanotechnology, and low-altitude applications.
The Jiangsu Provincial People's Government has issued the "Jiangsu High-Level University Construction Plan," which proposes the establishment of high-level academic disciplines and majors. It emphasizes the development of "Double First-Class" disciplines, distinguished characteristic disciplines, and advantageous disciplines, while also categorizing and tiering the construction of high-level disciplines. It actively promotes the adjustment and optimization of academic disciplines and majors, establishes a talent demand matching mechanism between disciplines and industries, a rapid layout mechanism for urgently needed fields, and a red-yellow card warning system oriented towards employment. The focus is on emerging pillar industries, future industries, and the "1650" industrial system, aiming to create a cross-disciplinary and intercollegiate academic innovation chain. There will be vigorous development of emerging interdisciplinary fields such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, nanotechnology, and low-altitude areas, with the goal of establishing national interdisciplinary centers, building strong intercollegiate interdisciplinary centers, cultivating composite interdisciplinary talents, and fostering pioneering original scientific and technological achievements. Strengthening the construction of fundamental disciplines is also prioritized, promoting coordinated development between application-oriented disciplines and fundamental disciplines. There will be active advancement in the theoretical research and platform construction of humanistic economics, creating a high ground for humanistic economic research.
