Shein is reportedly considering going public in Hong Kong around August 28.
According to knowledgeable sources, Shein plans to start accepting subscriptions from investors for its long-awaited Hong Kong initial public offering (IPO) as early as August 20, with the listing expected to occur around August 28. The sources revealed that Shein originally aimed for a valuation of approximately $30 billion for this IPO just a small fraction of its peak value but faced pushback from investors, leading to a potential further reduction in valuation. It was also indicated that existing shareholders may subscribe to about half of the shares. The issuance is expected to raise between $2 billion and $3 billion. The sources noted that discussions are still ongoing, and details regarding scale, valuation, and timing may change.
