Cisco (CSCO.US) first AI business "report card": Q4 performance exceeds expectations but AI business guidance is "very conservative" while traditional business remains the main revenue driver.
According to the Zhituo Financial APP, leading AI network company Cisco (CSCO.US) released its fourth-quarter earnings report after the market closed on Wednesday, reporting a year-on-year sales increase of 18% to $17.3 billion, compared to analysts' average expectation of $16.8 billion. After excluding certain items, the earnings per share were $1.22, exceeding the average expectation of $1.17. Cisco expects sales related to AI data center construction to reach $7.5 billion this fiscal year, a forecast that has left investors disappointed. Over the past year, the world's largest network equipment supplier has secured a total of $9.3 billion in AI-related orders, while the market had anticipated a higher performance realization.
