The cholera outbreak in South Sudan has resulted in 1,721 deaths, with confirmed cases exceeding 110,000.

On August 12 local time, South Sudan's Minister of Health Luke Thompson Toan stated at a press conference that since September 2025, the South Sudan health department has recorded 1,721 deaths and 110,574 confirmed cases of cholera. This cholera outbreak has spread across 9 states, 55 counties, and 3 administrative regions, making it the largest cholera outbreak in South Sudan to date.
