On August 12 local time, South Sudan's Minister of Health Luke Thompson Toan stated at a press conference that since September 2025, the South Sudan health department has recorded 1,721 deaths and 110,574 confirmed cases of cholera. This cholera outbreak has spread across 9 states, 55 counties, and 3 administrative regions, making it the largest cholera outbreak in South Sudan to date.
