The United States sells tankers related to Venezuela that were previously seized in international waters.

According to buyers, the U.S. government has sold an oil tanker linked to Venezuela. The tanker was seized by the U.S. Coast Guard in January after a dramatic chase in the Atlantic. As a result, the vessel from the shadow fleet has been authorized for dismantling. The oil tanker, named "Bella 1," had escaped from the U.S. blockade in the Caribbean at the end of last year and was pursued by authorities for weeks due to frequent name changes and painting the Russian flag on its hull in an attempt to seek refuge. Ultimately, the ship was detained near Iceland. Yogesh Rehani, the operations director of Global Marketing Systems, stated that the tankernow named "Times"was authorized for dismantling late last week, along with another Aframax tanker, "Lila," which had also been blacklisted and detained. Previously, the U.S. Treasury had issued dismantling permits for both tankers. The maritime database Equasis shows that the U.S.-based subsidiary of GMS is currently the owner of both vessels.
