United Maritime Information Center: A container ship in the Gulf of Oman was hit by a missile fired from a helicopter.

The United Maritime Information Centre stated that a shipping company reported the container ship Vela Nova was struck by a missile fired from a helicopter earlier on Tuesday, 71 nautical miles off the coast of Pakistan. The captain confirmed that the stern control cabin was hit, and the ship is no longer able to be maneuvered normally. The explosion caused a fire, which has been extinguished. All crew members have been confirmed safe, with no reports of injuries.
