He Xiaopeng talks about the new national standards for batteries and autonomous driving: ensuring that there are not only strengths but, more importantly, no weaknesses.

After the global premiere and pre-sale launch event of the Xiaopeng G9L, Xiaopeng Motors Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng engaged in a dialogue with the media. When discussing the two new national standards on power battery safety and autonomous driving safety, He Xiaopeng stated that Xiaopeng is also a participant and creator of these standards. Taking autonomous driving as an example, He noted that around 2020, Xiaopeng and other new car manufacturing forces introduced high-speed assisted driving to China, with aspirations to expand globally. It is now apparent that more and more automotive manufacturers are making autonomous assisted driving a standard feature, which is a very positive development, as both Chinese and global customers have a demand for it. He also pointed out that there are many specific scenarios and that many car owners may not necessarily be aware of which vehicles have strong assisted driving capabilities and which have weaker ones, and what to do when the capabilities are lacking. At this point, it is essential to establish a more comprehensive system of mandatory standards. These standards must ensure that not only do you have strengths, but more importantly, you have no weaknesses, and also that you can solidly reinforce the middle tier within the entire system's planning. This is what we have always aimed to achieve in strong standards.
