Analyst Hicklin from Pioneer Group predicts that the overall CPI in the United States will increase by 0.1% month-on-month and 3.3% year-on-year in July. The overall inflation reading for July is relatively moderate, reflecting a gradual decrease in oil prices and stabilization in core goods and housing costs. Core goods inflation is expected to remain flat; after experiencing significant fluctuations due to rising prices, this sector is in a trend of declining inflation, which should persist for several years. Therefore, it is anticipated that the housing category will help keep core inflation at a low level. Additionally, Hicklin noted that rising wages make core services outside of housing (referred to as "super-core" inflation) more stubborn. This category tracks services such as healthcare and transportation (excluding food and energy), which remained flat month-on-month in June, but still increased by 3.2% year-on-year. Potential price pressures continue to exist and will persist, especially with wages growing at a rate of 3.5%, despite high productivity growth. No signs have yet emerged indicating substantial improvement in core services inflation.
