Insiders: Apple is testing Changxin Technology's storage chips for use in iPhone and MacBook.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal on August 9, Apple is testing memory chips from Changxin Storage in its product lines, including iPhones and MacBooks, to alleviate the memory shortage resulting from the AI boom. The report cites informed sources stating that Apple has engaged in preliminary discussions with China's largest chip manufacturer, Changxin Storage, regarding component supply, with the aim of using these chips in some devices sold in China. Reuters previously reported that Changxin Storage is considering building its second memory chip factory in Beijing to increase production capacity. In addition, laptop manufacturers HP and Acer have begun using Changxin Storage's chips in devices sold outside the United States to ease supply shortages.
