The speed limit on highways in Shanghai has been set to 20 km/h.

The Shanghai traffic police announced that starting from 10:30 on August 9, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau upgraded the orange warning for heavy rain in the central urban area to a red warning. Speed limits of 20 km/h will be enforced on all city highways, the G40 Hushu Expressway will be subject to bi-directional closed management, and the Donghai Bridge will continue to implement bi-directional closed management, prohibiting vehicle passage.
