From August 7 to 8, the maritime department of Guangxi conducted patrol inspections along the entire section of the Pinglu Canal. On the 7th, the patrol vessel set off from the river mouth and traveled north along the canal, passing by the under-construction Youth Ship Lock. Today, it will successively pass through the Qishi and MADAO locks, eventually reaching the starting point of the Pinglu Canal at the Ping Tang River mouth. This marks the first time vessels have completely navigated the entire 134.2 kilometers of the Pinglu Canal since the completion of its main construction. The focus of this patrol was to conduct on-site inspections of key water areas concerning the navigation conditions, such as the canal channel dimensions, the navigable clearance of bridges, the guiding channels of the locks, and the mouths of tributary rivers, providing important data for refining and improving regulations on vessel navigation and safety assurance measures.
