Ships near the Strait of Hormuz were attacked and caught fire.
An exclusive recording provided to Xinhua News Agency by a sailor on the evening of the 7th, London time, shows that a commercial ship near the eastern entrance of the Strait of Hormuz was attacked and caught fire, with crew members organizing firefighting efforts while urgently calling for rescue. The recording indicates that the incident occurred near the coast of Oman, with the ship catching fire in the engine room after being attacked. The crew activated the ship's carbon dioxide firefighting system. Another segment of the recording shows that several nearby vessels responded to the distress call, stating they were heading to the scene to carry out a rescue. There have been multiple incidents of ship attacks in the waters near the Strait of Hormuz recently, most occurring in the shipping lanes closer to the Oman side.
