The pilot work for reclaimed water utilization configuration in 76 typical regions across the country has been completed.

On the 7th, reporters learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that the pilot work for reclaimed water utilization configuration has been smoothly completed in 76 typical areas across 28 provinces in the country. After multiple evaluations, the pilots have achieved the expected results. According to the "Pilot Scheme for Reclaimed Water Utilization Configuration in Typical Areas" jointly issued by the Ministry of Water Resources and five other departments, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, each pilot city will focus on establishing and improving the reclaimed water utilization management system, systematically building the technical standards system for reclaimed water, and implementing incentive policies related to pricing, financial subsidies, water consumption quota configuration, water rights trading, green finance, and ecological value transformation. These efforts aim to tap into the potential of reclaimed water to meet new water demand, improve the ecological environment of rivers and lakes, reduce the comprehensive cost of industrial water use, conserve water, reduce pollution, and lower carbon emissions, thus effectively demonstrating economic, ecological, and social benefits.
