A report released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday showed that despite a slight decrease in the unemployment rate, the U.S. economy unexpectedly experienced a decline in job positions in July, indicating a slowdown in the job market. After seasonal adjustment, non-farm employment decreased by 23,000 in July, while the data for June was revised down to 20,000. The market had previously expected an increase of about 80,000. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate fell to 4.1%, while the labor force participation rate further declined to 61.4%, hitting a lowest level in over five years.
