The National Internet Information Office has issued a notice for public consultation on the "Regulations on Personal Information Protection for Large Personal Information Processors." The consultation draft mentions that when large personal information processors push information and conduct commercial marketing to individuals through automated decision-making, they should take the following measures to protect personal rights: set up easily understandable, accessible, and operable options to turn off personalized recommendations; if users choose to disable personalized recommendations, large personal information processors should stop using the relevant personal information for the purpose of personalized recommendations; provide users with features to delete user tags related to their personal characteristics; and other measures prescribed by laws, administrative regulations, and relevant state departments.
