On August 5th local time, SpaceX announced on social media that it is partnering with NVIDIA to jointly develop the StarmindAI1 satellite computing payload, with each Starmind satellite equipped with NVIDIA's Rubin GPU and Vera CPU, achieving data center-level computing capabilities in space. NVIDIA also confirmed this collaboration on social media, stating, The next chapter of AI infrastructure is venturing into realms previously untouched by AI computing. Space computing power refers to the deployment of computing, storage, and data intelligence processing capabilities in the space environment, relying on satellites, low Earth orbit constellations, space stations, or dedicated space platforms to provide these computing capabilities. Currently, the intersections of satellite internet, artificial intelligence, and commercial space are deepening, pushing computing power into orbit, and space computing power is gradually emerging as the core frontier in a new qualitative productivity in the aerospace information industry. China has already quietly begun its layout in this field, with steps accelerating continuously.
