Heavy rainfall in Tongguan County, Shaanxi has triggered a landslide, causing one person to go missing.

According to the People's Government of Tongguan County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, due to the recent continuous heavy rainfall, a landslide disaster suddenly occurred in the Yijia Group of the Wu Village Central Community in the urban area of Tongguan County on the evening of August 5. This resulted in the collapse of one residential house along with the slope, and one person is missing. After the incident, Tongguan County promptly initiated an emergency response, and local police, fire rescue, and emergency management forces rushed to the scene to carry out search and rescue operations for the missing person, as well as to overnight evacuate and relocate 405 people from the surrounding area. Currently, rescue efforts, family support, and geological hazard risk assessments are ongoing at the site.
