Nihon and Hanguk stock markets opened low and closed lower, with the KOSPI index falling 4.6%.

The Nikkei 225 index closed down 617.18 points, a decline of 0.93%, at 65683.26 points; Kioxia fell over 9%. The KOSPI index in South Korea closed down 302.82 points, a decline of 4.59%, at 6295.44 points; the South Korean ChiNext index saw a slight increase of 0.26%; SK Hynix fell 10.3%, and Samsung Electronics dropped 6.3%.
