The volcano in Guatemala has continued to erupt for 50 hours.

The National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology of Guatemala announced on the 5th that the Fuego Volcano has calmed down after erupting for 50 hours. More than 1,700 residents who were forced to evacuate have been allowed to return home. The Fuego Volcano began erupting on the morning of the 3rd, with lava pouring down the slopes and columns of ash, debris, and hot gases reaching several thousand meters in height. The National Coordination for Disaster Reduction of Guatemala issued the highest level of alert on the 4th for the three provinces surrounding the volcano. On the 5th, the committee reminded that, given the situation is now safe, the evacuees can return home, but they should remain vigilant, as the volcano could erupt again at any time.
