According to media reports on Thursday citing informed sources, Ares Management was forced to reduce the size of a 1 billion private credit fund due to investor objections regarding the valuation of loans intended for what is referred to as a "continuity fund." The report stated that the leading firm in the private credit sector scaled down the fund to approximately 400 million because potential investors insisted on a greater discount on loan value than what Ares was willing to accept.
