Pop Mart initially fell over 3%.
On August 6, shares of Pop Mart on the Hong Kong stock market fell over 3% at one point in the early session. As of the time of writing, the shares were at HKD 155.5, down 3.66%, with a total market capitalization of HKD 206.8 billion. In terms of news, on August 5, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange disclosed information regarding a change in shareholding: Duan Yongping's long position in Pop Mart, held through H&H International Investment, decreased from 7.65% to 5.55% on July 30, a decline of 2.1 percentage points. The document indicated that the reason for this reduction in long position was that he delivered shares or payments required due to equity derivatives. In response, Duan Yongping stated on social media that this change is simply due to "put expired, part was called away." Related personnel from Pop Mart told the media that the drop in Duan Yongping's shareholding ratio is closely related to his previous selling of puts and calls, primarily because the price range settings were relatively narrow, representing short-term trading behavior rather than a proactive reduction in holdings as understood by the public.
