On August 4th, local time, Google announced that starting from August 10, 2026, the Gemini feature in Google Classroom will be available to K-12 and higher education students of all ages, provided their administrators have granted the necessary permissions. Students can use the Gemini tab in Classroom to transform course materials into interactive learning tools such as flashcards and practice quizzes, or synchronize them with Gemini Notebook to generate study guides and audio overviews. In addition, this update introduces a contextual guidance feature that allows students to select specific courses and assignments for targeted tutoring that directly aligns with assignment requirements and teaching syllabi.
