In response to Apple's lawsuit against OpenAI for stealing trade secrets, OpenAI issued a statement claiming that several of Apple's accusations contain factual errors: including that an external lawyer mixed up Asian surnames, leading to the wrong recipient of emails, and that Apple did not reach out after stating five months ago that it was "working on the issue" until the lawsuit was filed. OpenAI also refuted Apple's accusations against former employees Chang Liu and Tang Tan, stating that the company does not currently possess or need Apple's trade secrets and is more focused on product innovation.
