The death toll in the migrant crisis at the Spanish enclave of Ceuta has risen to 67.

On August 1, local time, the Spanish government's representative office in Ceuta stated that approximately 50,000 people have illegally entered Ceuta during this wave of "irregular migration," resulting in at least 67 deaths. According to the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, the situation in Ceuta is currently overall calm, illegal crossings have completely stopped, and the number of people returning to Morocco continues to increase, with 48,300 individuals having returned to Morocco so far. Meanwhile, Spain has begun installing maritime barriers at the Tarajal border to enhance border control.
