Beijing's alcoholic beverage advertising clearly stipulates four prohibitions: advertisements for alcoholic beverages must not show drinking actions.
Recently, the Beijing Municipal Market Regulation Bureau officially issued the "Guidelines for the Release of Food Advertisements in Beijing." The "Guidelines" regulate food advertisement release behaviors from three aspects: applicable scope, advertising release requirements, and a negative list. It specifies compliance standards for food advertisements, reinforces the responsibilities of all parties involved, and establishes clear promotional boundaries for the industry, aiming to safeguard consumers' "food safety." Regarding alcoholic beverage advertisements, the "Guidelines" clarify four special provisions: no inducement or encouragement to drink or promotion of excessive drinking; no depiction of drinking actions; no portrayal of activities such as driving vehicles, boats, or airplanes; and no explicit or implicit suggestion that drinking alleviates anxiety or enhances physical strength.
