Electric bicycles for express delivery and takeaway must display special license plates; Beijing's new regulations take effect today.

Today, the "Beijing Regulations on the Management of Non-Motor Vehicles in the Express Delivery and Takeout Industry" officially took effect. The new regulations stipulate that electric bicycles used for express delivery and takeout services must be registered and display a special license plate, implementing a "dedicated vehicle for dedicated use" policy. Vehicles that are no longer used for express delivery and takeout services must change to a regular license plate within 30 days from the date of discontinuation. Additionally, newly purchased electric bicycles for express delivery and takeout services must comply with the 2024 edition of the national standard "Safety Technical Specifications for Electric Bicycles" and be included in the product catalog of Beijing.
