On the evening of July 31, China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom issued a notice regarding the regulation of card sales management through internet channels. The notice states that in order to protect user rights and data security, the ordering process for number cards through internet channels will be uniformly regulated. Starting from August 1, 2026, users wishing to order number cards through internet channels can only do so through the official apps or websites of telecommunications operators; third-party internet channels will no longer provide services related to the handling of telecom number cards. In the notice, operators indicated that recently they have discovered illegal businesses falsely claiming to be "authorized partners of the operators" to release fraudulent card sales information, or using the guise of selling cards to collect users' sensitive personal information such as ID cards, addresses, and contact details, infringing upon user rights and posing a significant risk of information leakage for users.
