South Korea's GS purchases August shipment of American crude oil with a premium of about $18 per barrel compared to Dubai crude oil.
Multiple informed traders revealed that the South Korean oil refining company GS Caltex purchased 2 million barrels of U.S. crude oil, with the delivery and loading of the cargo scheduled for late August. The deal was at a premium of around $18 per barrel compared to the October Dubai crude oil benchmark price. Traders stated that the oil tanker carrying this batch of crude oil is expected to arrive at its destination in early October. The seller of the crude oil in this transaction is the Trafigura Group. GS Caltex had previously also purchased U.S. crude oil for the August delivery period, at a premium of around $14 per barrel compared to the Dubai crude oil benchmark price.
